Cirque of the Towers is a remote destination for hikers and climbers in the southern Wind River Range of Wyoming. The glacially-sculpted peaks, cool name, and availability of great data enticed me to make this map.
Although it may look photorealistic, the map is a digitally-rendered image comprised of 1-meter USGS DEMs draped with 60-centimeter NAIP imagery. I rendered it with a beta version of Natural Scene Designer Pro 8.0. I also used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for the finishing touches.
Perhaps my map will inspire you to visit Cirque of the Towers.
