Natural Earth Projection – Compare
The Natural Earth projection derives from the Kavairskiy VII and Robinson pseudocylindrical projections and blends their characteristics, with the Robinson having greater influence.

Compared to the popular Robinson projection, the Natural Earth projection is slightly taller, less oblique at the sides, and more spacious at high latitudes. This extra space helps to reveal coastline details in the far north that have more complexity than elsewhere. Physical mapping is one of the primary uses of the Natural Earth projection.
